Full stack developer in Mumbai

Avanish JhaI build web apps, and I keep them running.

I design, build and look after websites, web apps and the APIs behind them, in Java, TypeScript and React. Fixed price, plain English, and you can always reach me.

Available for new projects

Hi, I'm Avanish.

For the last two years I've built software people use every day. At work that's a large maintenance platform in Java. For my own clients it's an exam prep site where students sit timed mock tests, and an NGO's admissions and donations platform. I like all of it, from the button someone taps to the server it runs on.

Kalam Ashram

Exam prep platform and website for an education institute, 2026 to now

Students sit timed NEET, JEE and CUET mock tests, see their score the moment they submit, and pay per paper by UPI. The institute runs its website, admissions and donations from one admin panel, with no developer needed for everyday changes.

Fifty Villagers

Admissions, results and donations for an education NGO, 2025 to now

Fifty Villagers runs an entrance test for students. I built the platform that takes their applications, issues admit cards, publishes results and accepts donations, plus the admin side the team uses every day. I still look after it.

Enterprise platform at CMS Computers

Maintenance, incidents and contracts, 2024 to now

My day job. A large multi-tenant platform that operations teams use to log faults, plan maintenance, manage contracts and bill for the work. I've built some of its biggest parts: inventory, billing, SLA penalties and the main dashboard.

Challenge pools with real stakes, 2026, in build

Friends start a challenge, like a 30-day gym streak, and each puts money in. Miss a day and a small fine is collected automatically by UPI. The most consistent people take the pot. I wrote the full spec first, and I'm building it now in React Native and Supabase.

How a project runs

Four boards, four steps. Each one lights up as the rickshaw passes it.

  1. DAY 0

    A call, not a pitch

You walk me through the problem.

You walk me through the problem. I ask the awkward questions early: scale, deadlines, and who owns what.

  2. DAY 2

    Scope and a fixed quote

In writing, with no hourly meter.

What I'll build, what I won't, the milestones, the price and the date. No hourly meter running.

  3. WEEK 1

    Something real, early

A deployed staging build in week one.

Repo access from day one, and a deployed staging build with the schema and auth in place inside the first week.

  4. LAUNCH

    A handover that sticks

Plus 30 days of fixes at no cost.

Production deploy, a guide a new developer can follow, and 30 days of fixes at no cost. After that, I can keep hosting it and looking after it.

Still here after launch.

Both of my client sites are still live, and I'm still the one looking after them. Updates go out without downtime, backups run every night, and if something breaks, you message me, not a ticket queue.

Let's build yours.

A few lines is enough. I'll reply with questions or a time to talk.

About

Who you'd be working with

I'm Avanish. I've built software professionally since 2024. During the week I work on a large enterprise platform at CMS Computers in Mumbai, mostly in Java, Spring Boot and Angular. Outside it I take on a few clients at a time and build their product end to end: the site, the backend, the payments and the server it runs on. I'm also doing the IIT Madras programme in AI and ML, and I built this little Mumbai in three.js because a plain portfolio felt too easy.

  1. Aug 2024 to now

Java Full Stack Developer, CMS Computers India

Built inventory, billing, SLA penalties and the main dashboard of a multi-tenant maintenance platform. 160+ features and fixes so far.

  2. 2025 to now

Freelance, design to hosting, Kalam Ashram and Fifty Villagers

Built both platforms end to end and still run them: updates, backups and fixes.

  3. 2026

    Founding engineer, CONQR (in build)

Wrote the full spec and architecture before any code. Now building the app.

  4. 2020 to 2024

B.Tech, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

Graduated with a CGPA of 7.86. Now studying the IIT Madras AI and ML programme.

How I work with clients

  1. Fixed scope, fixed price.

You approve a number before I write a line. If the scope grows, we agree the change in writing first.

  2. You own everything.

Code, repo, servers, domains and credentials are yours from day one, with full IP transfer on final payment.

  3. No lock-in.

Standard, well-known tooling any good developer can pick up, plus a handover doc. You're never stuck waiting on me.

Questions clients ask

How do you price work, and when do I pay?

Fixed scope, fixed price, quoted in writing after our first call. Projects start from ₹1.5 lakh, plus hosting and maintenance. There's no hourly meter, so you never pay for me to read documentation.

Payment follows milestones: usually 30% to start, the rest split across agreed milestones, and the last payment on handover. Hosting and care is a flat monthly fee.

What each service includes

Who owns the code and the infrastructure?

You do, all of it. The repo lives in your organisation from day one, and servers, domains and third-party accounts are registered in your name.

Full IP transfer on final payment is written into the agreement.

You're in Mumbai. Does the timezone work for me?

I work on IST (UTC+05:30), which overlaps well with Europe, the Middle East, the UK and APAC. For US clients I keep late-evening IST slots free for calls.

Written updates land in your inbox each morning, and there's always a staging URL to look at.

What happens after launch?

Every project includes 30 days of support. If something I built breaks in that window, I fix it at no cost.

After that you can keep me on the monthly hosting and care plan, bring me back for specific work, or hand it to your own team with the runbook. Both of my client platforms are still live, and I still look after them.

More on hosting and care

Do you only work in Java?

No. Java and Spring Boot are my day job, but my client work has been in TypeScript: Next.js and React on the front, Node and NestJS behind, Postgres and Redis underneath, all in Docker. I pick what suits your project and your team.

And yes, I'm happy to work inside your existing codebase, with your repo, reviews and tracker.

Will you sign an NDA or a contract?

Yes, before you share anything sensitive. Send me yours, or I'll supply a mutual NDA and a contract covering scope, milestones, payment, IP transfer and confidentiality.

What if the project goes off the rails?

Milestones make it survivable. You're never more than one milestone away from a working, deployed build that you own, so the worst case is that you stop and keep everything built so far.

Scope changes are agreed in writing before they're built.
